Appliance Analysis is the Addon feature of the Ohm Assistant, with detection based on ML predictive models. Thus, sustained proper use is required for the ML-Bot learning to enhance accuracy. The Ohm Bot requires around 15 days of learning, and this is dependent on
-
Bot Online: Quality data collection, using a steady always-on Wi-Fi connection. Disruptions lead to data loss.
-
Proper Appliance Activity Feedback: Feedback for all events, with care taken to ensure correct feedback.
Note that the larger the house & greater the number of appliances, the learning process will be more complex.
A. NAVIGATION FROM THE OHM (HOME) SCREEN
Navigate from the main navigation bar to the Analysis section via the left-most icon
Note:The Ohm (Home) Screen displays LIVE real-time consumption in Watts. The Current Month Consumption is displayed in KWh (Kilowatts Hour). The last 24 hours consumption can also be viewed.
B. ANALYSIS MAIN SCREEN
-
ANALYSIS OVERVIEW:
In the Analysis section, the consumption is displayed in units in form of a Pie Chart.
Displayed appliance category wise. Each category that is detected is displayed in different colours with unit value. -
ANALYSIS TABS: There are two tabs. The active tab is highlighted in RED.
(a) The TODAY tab (which is displayed by default) displays data for the current day.
(b) The MONTH tab displays data for the current calendar month.
The centre of each Pie Chart displays the total consumption in units. -
BOT LIVE:This indicates the duration that the bot is live. In case the bot is disconnected from the server, this value would drop from 100%. This is displayed only for monthly analysis for the current month (and not for the daily analysis). Not displayed for the current day.
-
APPLIANCE CATEGORIES:The Ohm Assistant provides insights on the activity & performance of heavy appliances in the home. Currently, the following 7 categories are covered:
Air Conditioners, Geysers, Refrigerators, Washing Machine, Heating Devices (including Iron, Kettle, Microwave, OTG, Toaster, Air Fryer, Grinder, Hair Dryer), Dishwashers & Electric Vehicles (EV).
The remaining consumption is displayed under Others. As a constantly evolving product, we are working to include more categories in due course. Note that all appliances in the home must be defined & updated correctly in the Vyas Section. No false devices must be created, and appliances not included will be classified as others.
-
APPLIANCE CATEGORY SEGREGATION: In general, appliance segregation is provided at an overall category level and not on an individual appliance level, or phase-wise. Hence, Ohm would be able to predict the consumption of air conditioners altogether and not how much each air-conditioner is consuming.
-
CONDITIONAL SPECIFIC APPLIANCE SEGREGATION: The most recent update (Android) provides some level of appliance segregation at the phase level. Here multiple appliances will be displayed separately with labels (user-defined nicknames) if that appliance is the only one in its category in that specific phase.

Clicking on the bar graph result for any specific day will highlight that month. The total consumption in units for that day is displayed prominently on top. Below, the appliance level consumption will be listed for the selected day. The Bot Live information for the selected day is also displayed.
3. DAILY CONSUMPTION FOR PREVIOUS WEEKS: Navigate to view previous weeks, and consumption for specific days across several past weeks can be reviewed.
4. MONTHLY DETAILED ANALYSIS SCREEN: Navigate to the MONTHLY Detailed Analysis Screen from the DAILY Detailed Analysis Screen by clicking the tab. Similarly, from the MONTHLY Analysis tab, click in the centre of the Pie Chart (on the Total Consumption Units) units, and the MONTHLY Detailed Analysis Screen will open with detailed report for current year in progress.
5. YEARWISE MONTHLY CONSUMPTION: The consumption of the months of the ongoing year is available in form of a yearly bar graph. The unit consumption for each month is displayed.
Clicking on the bar graph result for any specific month will highlight that month. The total consumption in units for that month is displayed prominently on top. Below, the appliance level consumption will be listed for the selected month. The Bot Live information for the selected month is also displayed.
